Winning the Hearts and Minds

Knowing the Iraq war was wrong is a burden that I do not take lightly. For, what to do about the people who know it was right? Just right them off altogether (for dead, relly)? Yes, there is always that temptation. But (if you ask me) tha'ts morally flawed. One must have faith in the human soul, the human spirit, and other human stuff, that some of these people are salvageable. We must not give up on them! Not all of them anyway.

That's why a while back I we launched a new effort here at TIWWWB. It's an attempt at Winning the Hearts and Minds of those who are wallowing in the most wrong.

One of my first subjects was the people who run the so-called "Power" line blog. Considering their wrongness and their spiritual needs to be corrected about the Iraq war, I dashed off this kindly (gentle) email to their corraspondence:

Subject: You are wrong about what the Iraq war was.

Sorry but you are wrong about what the Iraq war was.
It was wrong and not right. Just thought you should

Well this must of awoken something inside the "so" called Powerline people because, It garnered some response - some moral fruit. Here was their response (reprinted with utter lack fo permission):

Sensing I had gotten somewhere, Awoken the moral core of this so called "Powerline" guy from its deep slumber. I decided to pursue the matter. Clearly he saw the persuasiveness of my argument but had a difficult time coming to true grips with the full extent of the Iraq's war's wrongness. Not willing to give up on him (tha'ts just not my style), I pursued:

Great, so what can I expect a correction/retraction?

So far? No response and no indication on soc-alled Power "line" page of retraction or acknowledgment of error. So it seems we are temporarily at an impass.

But I shall not give up on them - not yet. Or if I give up on them, I will not give up on others. I have faith in the human essence!

I will be sure to periodically keep you posted on these continuing efforts.
